Our Ecosystem
Right from the start, our primary goal has been to conserve the natural surroundings and initiate reforestation efforts in previously treeless pasture areas. This vital undertaking has fostered the development of a significant ecosystem, safeguarding precious natural resources and supporting diverse species of flora and fauna within the region
FLORA
Our farm encompasses carefully cultivated Oocote Pine (Pinus oocarpa) and Cypress (Cupressus lusitanica) plantations, along with a thriving natural forest teeming with diverse species, including Oak (Quercus insignis), Oak (Quercus aata), Laurel (Cordia alliodora), Guarumo (Cecropia peltata), Lion's Hand (Dendropanax arboreus), Cedar (Cedrela odorata), Pepeto (Inga sp), and more. This harmonious blend of vegetation creates a vibrant and diverse ecosystem within our grounds.
FAUNA
The farm boasts a rich variety of wild mammal species, including Gray Squirrels (Sciurus variegatoides), Armadillos (Dasypus novemcinctus), Agoutis (Dasyprocta punctata), Raccoons (Procyon lotor), Rabbits (Sylvilagus floridanus), Nine-banded Armadillos (Dasypus novemcinctus), Opossums (Didelphis marsupialis), Skunks (Conepatus mesoleucus), Coatis (Nasua narica), White-tailed Deer (Odocoileus virginianus), Pacas (Cuniculus paca), and various reptiles such as Rattlesnakes (Crotalus ssp), Coral Snakes (Lampropeltis triangulum), and Common Toads (Bufo ssp), among others.
